This addition in Madison, NJ was designed to bring light, comfort, and versatility to the home by creating a seamless connection between indoor living and the surrounding landscape. Our clients wanted a bright, welcoming space that could function as both a casual dining area and a relaxed sitting room, something that felt open, airy, and easy to enjoy throughout the day.

The goal was to design a sun filled addition that blended classic architectural elements with a soft, transitional aesthetic. Expansive windows and French doors line the perimeter of the space, allowing natural light to pour in while maintaining a strong visual connection to the backyard. Overhead, a series of skylights enhances the brightness even further, creating a consistently light filled environment from morning through evening.

A warm, neutral palette sets the tone, with soft cream walls and crisp white trim creating a clean, timeless backdrop. The patterned tile flooring introduces subtle texture and visual interest, grounding the space while complementing the overall lightness of the design. At the center, a round table establishes a natural gathering point, surrounded by classic seating that reinforces the room’s relaxed elegance.

From the exterior, the addition was carefully integrated into the existing home, maintaining consistent proportions, materials, and detailing to ensure a cohesive look.
