This kitchen remodel in Boonton, NJ was thoughtfully designed for a family entering a new chapter as empty nesters. After raising three children here, our clients wanted to reimagine a home they already loved. They partnered with JMC, a Morris County based design-build company, to create a space better suited to their lifestyle.

The goal was to create an open-concept kitchen that felt breezy, coastal, and effortlessly comfortable. At the same time, the design needed to remain timeless, functional, and suitable for long-term living. A soft, neutral color palette and warm wood flooring create a relaxed atmosphere. Meanwhile, natural light flows throughout the kitchen and surrounding living spaces. A custom coffered ceiling adds architectural interest and depth without overwhelming the room.

At the heart of the kitchen is a large custom island designed for everyday living and casual entertaining. Comfortable seating makes it ideal for relaxed mornings, quick meals, and time with family and friends. In addition, a built-in display shelf adds character while providing practical storage. It also creates a place to showcase meaningful pieces without making the kitchen feel cluttered.

A dedicated butler’s pantry adds even more functionality to the space. It provides additional storage and prep space, especially when entertaining. Throughout the kitchen, custom cabinetry ensures everything has its place. Together, these thoughtful storage solutions support a layout that feels organized, efficient, and easy to live in.
