There’s a lot that goes into developing a remodeling design — the overall floor plan, lighting placement and selecting all the finishes to name a few. A great designer will take things one-step further by adding architectural details that enhance a room, create a focal point, and make the room feel completely unique. At JMC Home Improvement Specialists, we incorporate details that take cues from other parts of the home or add something special that will add both beauty and functionality to a space.
Here are some examples of how we’ve added interior architectural details that make a statement.
We remodeled the kitchen in this home and wanted to mimic the details seen in the adjacent dining room. We created a beautiful arched entry from the family room into the kitchen, which is also echoed on either side above the bar and peninsula.
A unique ceiling treatment in a basement can mask the feeling of low ceilings and make it feel more like the main levels of a home. This billiards room complete with its built-in booth and beadboard detail will transport you to your favorite pub.
You don’t see a lot of custom wall panels and moldings in bathrooms, but we added it to this one to help balance the space with the traditional details of the rest of the home. It creates a stunning background for the soaking tub.
Doors can be a great option for adding architectural detail. In this universal design bedroom, all of the sliding doors have frosted panels, which maintain privacy but also allow light to pass through.
Even a railing can be gorgeous! This beautiful stair rail was designed to echo the more modern feel of the rest of the home.
